Beach Day

The kids and I spent the morning at the beach collecting rocks, lake glass and the boys new found love, drift wood.

Some of our lake treasures.  Parker would like to note he found the biggest lake glass today.

Ham, the little weirdo, spent his time rolling up and down the beach.  The rocky beach.  He also loaded my beach bag with 50 tons of beach rocks.  Hayd was nice enough to only throw 14 handfuls of tiny rocks into my bag which later had to be turned upside down and shook to clean it out.

Beach day

This beach is about a 10 minute drive from us but that's only because the speed limit along Lakeshore Drive never gets above 30mph.  So far it has been our favorite place for treasure finding.  We'll be visiting here a lot this summer.

On our way home from the beach I was talking to the kids about how later, after Jed got home, I was going to go pick up my latest thrift store find and that I might also be able to pick up a plastic kiddie pool for the back yard.  To which Hayden replied, "That would be AMAZING, Mom!"  You never know what's going to come out of that girls mouth but apparently she really likes the pool idea.
