Over President's weekend this year Husband interviewed for a job in Milwaukee. When we left the Little Kids with my parents for the weekend I thought there was no way in hell we'd be moving to Wisconsin. In fact, I almost told my parents this as we left but I'm glad I didn't because I would have been wrong. By the end of our trip I knew we'd be moving.
Even though it was raining all weekend we managed to find a cool place called Swing Park. It was an unused space under a bridge that a bunch of locals decided to hang swings from and eventually the city made it an official park. The boys also liked that we found a Geocache there. (If you don't know what Geocaching is I highly recommend you look it up...fun for the entire family!)

By far the Boys favorite thing about Milwaukee was the indoor pool at our hotel. We were only there 2 nights but they swam 4 times.

What struck us about Milwaukee was that for a big town it had a small town feel. What smacked us in the face was that while driving around the city the Boys mentioned how they didn't see any burned down buildings or houses with bars on the windows...and we even got lost in what we were told was the "bad" part of town. We were saddened to realize that whenever the Boys were in Flint (the biggest city they've ever know) they came to expect the burned down buildings. This should not be a norm for kids.
After Husband received a job offer of less hours and more money we thought long and hard about making the move. Could our family handle a move like this? What would this do to the kids? What would this process look like? Even though we'd be moving 6 hours away from the rest of our family in the end Husband and I felt that this job and move would provide our family the opportunity for a better future. How could we argue with that?
