Foggy Lake

Lake Michigan is not a tidal body of water yet every time we've been there it seems like the "tide" is coming in or out.  It's amazing how the water can be so rough one day then so calm the next.  The other day the waves were so rough I had to restrict the boys to ankle deep water for their safety.  They didn't like that restriction but took me more seriously the next day when the news reported about two 13 year old girls got sucked out in a rip tide an hour down the coast.  One of those girls did not make it to shore.

Yesterday when we arrived at the lake we couldn't see it from the parking lot.  It was so humid a thick fog blanketed the coast.

Fog as thick as pea soup

Water calm and clear as glass, great for rock picking
They could go in the water as far as they wanted but they stayed near shore

The fog hung around well after we took our before bed stroller ride/walk.  This picture was taken on the path a couple blocks from our house.

7pm Fog hanging over the bay with the city buildings peeking above

I'll be glad when the humidity breaks so I can get back to my painting projects.  In this kind of humidity the garage is too hot even with the door open and the paint takes forever to dry.  All reports are that the humidity is breaking today which means I have a few dressers to get at.
