Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! Jed had a very restful morning.  The kids were nice and quiet and he got to sleep until 10am today!  Yeah, right, maybe in his dream world.  In reality the kids woke up at 6:15a, they fought like cats and dogs while I tried to keep them quiet then our super sensitive smoke alarm went off at 7am when I put butter in the pan to make breakfast.  That sounds more like it.

While I cooked a breakfast of bacon, corned beef hash and scrambled eggs the boys presented Jed with the various gifts they made at school and home.  At school they made nice hand prints and rocks with drawings on them.  At home they made this:

Made from rocks we found at our favorite beach.

In a frame we found at my favorite thrift store. There was already a nail hole in the perfect spot in the wall on Jed's side of the bed.

After breakfast we went to our favorite beach and found the most lake glass we've ever found in one day.  Paxton said it was because it is Father's Day.  He found his first ever piece of blue lake glass, a special event for him.  Even Hayden and Hamilton know what to look for now.  They are so proud of themselves when they find a piece of glass to add to the baggie.

After lunch and naps we spent the afternoon in the backyard.  Can anyone guess what's going on in this picture? (Besides cooling down because it was hot and sunny)

It's a bird, it's a plane....

There were a bazillion dragon flies everywhere in the sky.  They kept landing on the power/cable lines running to the house and the clothesline poles.  Look real close and you can see one.

It's a bunch of Dragonflies.  There's one on the end of that hook

We finished the day off with a delicious dinner of chicken drummies and corn cooked on the grill.  Then all the kids went to bed right away when told to without fussing one bit....hahaha!  Yeah, right, maybe in Jed's dream world!
